Following the major repair of our system we were required to complete water samples and testing for
coliform. Following is the results:

Important Information about Depressurization Events at the Parkview Water System
July 2014
PWS #1280135
August S, 2014
As some of you may be aware, the Parkview Water System has experienced some low water reservoir events in
the past few weeks during these warmer than normal days. As the operators and members worked to determine
the problem causing the events - a sizable leak was found in one of the pipes causing pressurized water to
discharge into the ground - or leak.
To identify the problem and make the necessary repairs there were two (2) System Depressurization events that
you need to be aware of:
• Sunday July 27*2014
• Thursday July 31" 2014
Because your health is important to us, we want to explain in greater detail the steps we have and will continue to
take to protect your water supply during a depressurization event. We would also like to inform you of the
measures you may choose to take to protect your health should another pressure loss event occur.
Even well designed and operated water systems such as ours may experience pressure loss (depressurization
events) from time to time whether accidental or planned. When a significant pressure loss occurs there is a
potential for back flow or cross connection contamination to occur in the water systems distribution system, thus
initiating an opportunity for contaminants to be drawn into the drinking water supply We have done our best to
limit this potential by maintaining the chlorination system that is a part of the Parkview Water System and taking 2
random Coliform Bacteria samples from the system Both of the random samples taken on August 1*. 2014 came
back "absent* of any Colifomn or "good". Coliform findings that are "absent" indicate that the water is free from this
possible contamination after the depressurization events.
While we have established these preventative measures to significantly diminish the potential for contamination, it
is not possible for any public drinking water system to completely rule out the potential for contamination during a
depressurization event. This potential for the introduction of microbial and chemical contaminants into the water
system may pose a special health risk for people with weakened immune systems {immuno-compromised
persons), children and the elderly. If such contamination were to occur, it may cause symptoms such as nausea.
vomiting, dianhea. cramps, headaches, or other symptoms. As previously stated, confirmation samples collected
throughout the distribution system following the recent depressurization events have been absent for Coliform
bacteria These data serve to demonstrate our system was not contaminated during the depressurizations.
In the event of a future depressurization event, our certified water system operator are on call to respond. In order
to prevent contamination, we will continue to monitor the chlorine disinfection system that is part of the Parkview
Water System If test results indicate that Coliform bacteria contamination has occurred we will notify all water
users immediately and take action to provide notice to the water system users
If you are concerned about the potential for contamination due to a depressurization event, please consume
bottled water if you notice a decrease in pressure at your tap (Boiling your water may not be an effective method
to ensure that you are protected from all potential contamination).
