System Repaired and Upgraded

Our operator and his crew were on site at 8AM Thursday to repair the Pump #2 side of the delivery system. The pipe and fittings were replaced with higher grade poly piping. All galvanized fittings that were accessible were replaced with brass and those that weren't were wrapped or treated in a way to extend their useful life. To do this, the area between the pump house and the reservoir had to be excavated to expose the leak and effect the repair. Since we have had to dig up this part of the system just several months ago it was decided to treat Pump #1 piping to the same upgrade.

The cost of this repair and upgrade will be substantial, but should keep any leaks from happening for many years.

Crown United, our operator was able to complete the work without the shutting down the system, which would have required additional water testing and costs. They also had enough staff on site to complete the work in one long day. The excavation will be refilled.
